The Reserve Bank has warned of a tough couple of years for Australians.
In its latest Statement on Monetary Policy, released every three months, the bank has presented its updated forecasts on the economy.
It expects real wages continuing to fall as inflation persists and unemployment starts to rise.

- A man and woman charged with the murder and torture of their seven-month-old baby boy appeared in a Queensland court today via video link. Police found the boy dead at a residence at Yugar, north-west of Brisbane on Thursday morning.
- Twitter employees waiting to hear whether they still have a job will be told their fate by email tomorrow, following a week of uncertainty about the company's future under new owner Elon Musk.
- Aged care workers will get a pay rise of at least 15 per cent, following a highly-anticipated decision handed down by the Fair Work Commission today.
- Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil has accused the opposition of rank hypocrisy over the repatriation of Australian women and children from Syrian detention camps. Four women and 13 children arrived in Sydney last weekend after the government supported their repatriation.

- Dani Laidley. The Former North Melbourne AFL coach has launched more legal action against Victoria Police, claiming someone in the force was behind candid photographs which she says painted her as a "ridiculous spectacle" for identifying as a woman.
