The looks! The parties! The celebrities! Inside Coachella 2023

Ah, the Coachella set: eccentric, eclectic and ever-eager for another three-day romp in the California desert.

Since its debut in October 1999, the properly titled Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has garnered a committed A-list troupe, game for braving the dust and riding golf carts to get a glimpse inside.

It now comes as something of a festival entrée, running this year over two weekends, 14 - 16 and 21 - 23 April, and kicking off another year of summer style.

For 2023’s first instalment, celebrities spent a weekend party hopping between branded bashes (in fantastically named venues; ‘The Viking Villa’, ‘The Vibe House’ etc) before heading to see the likes of Blackpink, Billie Ellish and Bad Bunny perform.

Prize for starriest pre-drinks was won by Marc Jacobs who teamed up with i-D Magazine for a supermodel-heavy start on Saturday morning. Adut Akech, who looked relaxed in a silk printed black dress with multi-colour starbursts, joined Irina Shayk in a psychedelic paisley printed skirt and bralette, and Stella Maxwell, who looked crisp in a white boiler suit.

Rubbing shoulders with the A-list fashion set was Bella Thorne, in a Marc Jacobs monogram sports bra, Lewis Hamilton, who wore a billowing Fendi ‘F’ print shirt, Amelia Dimoldenberg in a Chopova Lowena kilt, and Natalia Bryant, daughter of the late Kobe Bryant, who wore a cream denim shirt and blue jeans.

Rivalling the party for best guests was clothing label Revolve, who held their own festival-alongside-the-festival. Despite previously being dubbed Fyre Festival 2.0, this year’s event saw the likes of Suki Waterhouse, in jeans, metallic-knit bandeau and striped white and blue shirt, and Emma Roberts, who wore a black one-strapped top and skirt, show up and turn out.

Other mainstay Coachella attendees include former Victoria Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, whose best look comprised of a Siedres knit top and Raisa Vanessa flares which came in burnt orange with mirrored detailing, as well as Paris Jackson, who was seen in a snake print Celine skirt and corset at the Celsius’ Oasis fitness drink’s party on the first day of the festival.

Quite the start to the summer season, but there is no doubt more is to come next weekend.
