'The life of a pop star': Singer reports pot holes to Scottish council

AMY Macdonald has come to the rescue of drivers across the city after reporting pot holes to Glasgow City Council.

The singer said she encountered "hundreds of millions" of pot holes as she recently drove to the supermarket.

She then sat in the car park and reported around 10 to the council.

In a video shared on TikTok, the Bishopbriggs born star said she was doing her "bit for society".

Amy said: "The life of a pop star.

"I'm sat in the supermarket car park and I've not went in yet because on my journey I encountered hundreds of millions of potholes and I've just been sat reporting them all to Glasgow City Council.

"There has been 10 reports.

"I'm just doing my bit for society, these pot holes will get fixed because of me."

She then joked: "I might be wrong but I don't think Taylor Swift goes out driving and goes 'that's a bit horrible pothole I better get on to the council and get that reported so somebody doesn't damage their car'.

"I mean maybe she does, but I don't think she does."

Fans of the singer took to the comments to praise her hard work.

One person wrote: "Not all popstars wear capes."

Another said: "Living the dream."

A third added: "Great work, can you do a UK tour?"

A spokesman for the council said: “We always encourage people to report any potholes they encounter while driving.

“Reporting a pothole will ensure the issue is properly assessed and appropriately included in our on-going maintenance programme.

“Potholes can appear suddenly at any time and are caused by environmental factors such as volume of traffic, ice and rain.

“Our approach is always to tackle the most dangerous faults as a matter of priority.”
