Police are targeting speeding drivers on a Leeds road following concerns from local residents.
West Yorkshire Police headed out to Asquith Avenue in Morley on Wednesday, after locals raised an issue with the amount of speeding motorists. Police were on the road with radar guns monitoring drivers' speeds.
A number of drivers were given £100 fines and three points on their licence. The road, which has a 30mph speed limit, sparked the checks and police say they will continue the checks going forward.
In a post on the West Yorkshire Police - Leeds South Facebook page, the force said: "Following concerns raised by local residents, speed checks conducted on Asquith Avenue, Morley As several motorists learnt, you can get a £100 fine & 3 points on your driving license for exceeding the 30mph speed limit. More checks to follow."

A couple of residents then replied to the post asking police to visit their street in Middleton, saying there are "boy racers" all the time. One woman said: "Should try streets near main park gates at Middleton, boy racers out on an evening using it as a race track, I guess that’s too hard to police though."
A man requested: "Please come down to middleton/thorpe lane for the day - when its not being dug up again its a speed cameras dream road." Another Leeds resident said: "Concerns on our street at Soothill Lane its like a race track every day , evenings are worse with the budding race drivers......never see a police patrol or a speed camera at all."
