Josh Marsh is now set to stay at Swansea City, WalesOnline understands.
Marsh was previously expected to follow chief executive Julian Winter out the door at the Swansea.com Stadium, but sources have insisted he will continue his role as head of football operations, which he took on following the departure of Mark Allen in June last year.
Questions over the the positions of Marsh and Winter has rumbled on for the last few weeks, amid a significant shake-up of the club's hierarchy this summer.
Andy Coleman, one of three investors to inject a cash sum of around £10m into the club, has already taken the role of chairman, and one of his first acts was to hit out at speculation around the positions of his colleagues.
A statement, signed by Coleman, read: "Swansea City AFC believes that people matter. I believe that people matter.
"I am extremely disappointed by recent speculation in the media regarding Julian Winter and Josh Marsh. That is just not ok and it's simply something I cannot let stand.
"We as a club will always support our community members when wronged."
Despite no formal confirmation, it's understood Winter has since left the club.
However, Marsh is now set to stay on, and is understood to have already held conversations with Coleman over recruitment plans for the summer.
His efforts are expected to be supplemented by the arrival of Luton Town COO Paul Watson, who is still expected to come on board as the club's new sporting director.
Both are expected to be tasked with reshaping the squad ahead of next season and targets are understood to have already been identified, although the glacial pace of Russell Martin's exit and subsequent managerial uncertainty has clearly made the landscape a little more complicated, as has the ongoing shake-up of the hierarchy.
Recruitment plans will be made on the basis that the new manager will continue the possession-heavy philosophy of Martin, whose move to Southampton is still expected to go through, despite negotiations over compensation dragging on.
