The latest COVID-19 case numbers from around the states and territories

Here's a quick wrap of each Australian jurisdiction's latest COVID-19 statistics today — Saturday, August 20.

Victoria

There have been another 30 COVID-19 deaths in Victoria.

There are 471 cases in hospital, with 30 of those in intensive care and 11 requiring ventilation.

There were 3,354 new cases today. 

NSW

The state has recorded 34 more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 1,908 cases in hospital, 56 of those in intensive care. 

There were 6,116 new cases announced today.

Tasmania

Tasmania has recorded no more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 58 cases in hospital, including two people in intensive care. 

There were 402 new cases announced today.

Queensland

Queensland has recorded 20 more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 394 cases in hospital, including 17 people in intensive care. 

There were 2,647 new cases announced today.

Western Australia

Western Australia has recorded seven more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 237 cases in hospital, including seven people in intensive care. 

There were 1,624 new cases announced today.

South Australia

South Australia has recorded five more COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 263 cases in hospital, including nine people in intensive care and two requiring ventilation.

There were 851 new cases announced today.

ACT

The ACT has not recorded any new COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 121 cases in hospital, including four people in intensive care and one requiring ventilation.

There were 252 new cases announced today.

Northern Territory

The NT has not recorded any new COVID-19 deaths. 

There are 27 cases in hospital, but no patients in intensive care.

There were 134 new cases announced today.
