It seems like the buzz around USC QB Caleb Williams — among those star players who will be skipping bowl games this year — has gotten to the point where him going in the top two of the 2024 NFL Draft feels inevitable.
But it’s super early in the process, long before we see who declares, before the NFL combine and such. In our latest NFL mock draft from Christian D’Andrea, Williams went No. 2 to the Arizona Cardinals.
The latest mock draft from CBS has Williams going sixth overall, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trading up with the New York Jets to get him.
Here’s what Chris Trapasso wrote:
We shouldn’t be so sure Caleb Williams is going to be the first quarterback off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. Heck, he might not be the second off the board. And let this mock also serve as a reminder that in most of the last decade, a “surprise” quarterback has ultimately been picked in the top 3 selections.
