The hotly anticipated Last of Us TV series is nearly here, based on the highly popular video game.
Trailers for the show suggest the plot will follow the events of the first game, released in 2013. Naughty Dog's, the company behind the game, co-president Neil Druckmann joins Chernobyl's Craig Mazin to bring the game to our screens.
The show is set 20 years after a zombie apocalypse, with modern society destroyed and deadly zombies haunting people's every moment. When is the Last of Us coming out?
The first episode will arrive Sky Atlantic on 16 January, a day after it launches in the US on HBO Max. One episode will then release every Sunday after that, with the final episode coming out on March 12.

Who is in the Last of Us?
The two main cast members are Pedro Pascal, known for his role in Mandelorian, playing hardened apocalypse survivor Joe. He will be joined by Game of Thrones' Bella Ramsey as Ellie, who stole fans' hearts as Lady Lyanna Mormont.
The pair are joined by Gabriel Luna as Joe's brother Tommy, Merle Dandridge as The Fireflies leader Marlene (the same role she voiced in the game), and Nico Parker as Joel's daughter, Sarah. Nick Offerman, best known as Ron in Parks and Recreation, also features as Bill, and is joined by Murray Bartlett as Frank, the other half of the survivalist duo.
Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who played Joel and Ellie in the game, will also both appear in the show, but the roles have not been revealed.
What is the age rating for the Last of Us?
Following the game's rating (PEGI 18), the show has received an 18 rating due to the violence and language used.
