The Foundation: Three Garments That Do All the Heavy Lifting
A well-cut kurta in a solid or subtle print is the most versatile garment in Indian dressing. Pair it with churidar for a clean line, with palazzo pants for ease, or with a straight-cut salwar for everyday errands. The kurta does not need embellishment to work, fabric and fit carry it. A cotton or linen kurta in a mid-tone (think slate, terracotta, or deep olive) reads as smart-casual in any context without trying.
