SEVERAL Hunter public preschools will go to tender by the end of the year as part of a state government commitment to deliver 100 new preschools across the state by 2027.

Locations at Booragul, Cessnock, Ellalong, Kearsley, Kurri Kurri, Maryland, Nulkaba, Shortland, Tenambit and Teralba are among public schools on the Central Coast, Illawarra, Southern Highlands and Mid North Coast areas in line to benefit from the project.

As many as 85 tenders for these preschools will be released by the end of the year, with the first set of tenders for preschools in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven to be released next month.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning Prue Car said the government was committed to giving every child the best possible start in life.

"With this record pipeline of tenders and projects going to market, we are getting on with the job of delivering new schools and new facilities quicker, while minimising the impact on school communities during construction," she said.

The $769 commitment by the Minns government is the largest expansion of public preschools in NSW history.

A Pattern Book will be released next month to reduce costs and accelerate delivery times for the NSW government's massive pipeline of new and upgraded schools. It will include detailed guidance to industry on consistent, repeatable designs for school and preschool buildings.
