A federal immigration agent shot and wounded a man in North Austin on Sunday, 20 September, prompting Congressman Greg Casar to demand an independent investigation and the release of body-camera footage.

The shooting occurred early Sunday afternoon in the 7000 block of West Anderson Lane, near U.S. 183 and Research Boulevard. Three officials briefed on the incident told the Austin American-Statesman that the man was shot by a federal immigration agent and taken to hospital by Austin-Travis County EMS.
