Summers in Newcastle just haven't been the same without it for the last two years but soon The Hoppings will be back on Tyneside and we can't wait!
A trip to the legendary funfair has become a rite of passage for many generations of Geordies, so there was great disappointment when the coronavirus pandemic forced it to be cancelled for two years in a row in 2020 and 2021. Organisers had hoped to hold it at a slightly later date than normal last year but plans were thwarted as a question mark still hung over large scale events.
However, it will soon be time for The Hoppings to make its comeback as it arrives back in its usual stomping ground of the Town Moor, where it will take up residence from June 17-25, with organisers promising some new additions for 2022, as well as confirming what rides will be there this year.

While of course we will all be hoping for some good weather, which definitely can't be guaranteed with The Hoppings, something else you'll need to be aware of if you're planning on making a trip, is when you can go.
The Hoppings 2022 opening times in Newcastle
The Hoppings organisers have confirmed that the funfair will be open daily from 12pm until 10pm, with an official launch planning for day one on Friday, June 17.
Car parks will be open 30 minutes before the event commences each day.
Do you have to pay to get in?
No, like in years gone by. The Hoppings will be free to get in. Early indications suggest all the rides will cost between £1.50 and £5 a go.
