A Little History of Dublin written by The Little Museum of Dublin founder Trevor White delves into the vast history of the capital city as it explains a thousand years of the city's past in just over 200 pages.
The book is described as: "A high-speed journey through a thousand years of life in the Irish capital. The key events are explained in short chapters, and the reader will discover the complete history of Dublin in the time it takes to walk from Dollymount to Dalkey."
Author Trevor White said that the inspiration for the book came from the history he is surrounded with every day.
He said: "I started my career as a journalist and I was a magazine publisher. Over 10 years ago I opened the museum with a friend of mine. It's a great privilege to work there and the book is really an extension of the work in the museum.

"The musemm is non profit and funded by the public. It is rated as the number one thing to do in Dublin on Trip Advisor and we are very proud of all the work we do there."
Speaking about the book, Trevor added: "Really, this book was designed to serve as a kind of quick, light hearted view of the history of Dublin. It's for people who just want to get the basics of the past. It's a colourful account of Irish history."
Trevor explained how the book is built upon the work of many great historians, however it is aimed at people who may have forgotten the story of Dublin's past and want to better understand it at an accessible level.
He said: "Many people may have learned the contents of the book in school or parts of it and this book is a great way to learn a lot of history very quickly."
The Little Museum of Dublin is open every day from 9am to 5pm and people can buy tickets and find out more information on their website. A Little History of Dublin is priced at €16.99 and can be found at most book shops.
