A total solar eclipse set to cross parts of the Northern Hemisphere later this month is generating excitement among astronomers, skywatchers, and public health experts alike.
The eclipse, scheduled for August 12, 2026, will be visible in totality across portions of Greenland, Iceland, northern Spain, and other parts of Europe, while a partial eclipse will be visible across much of Europe, Africa, and North America. As anticipation builds, scientists are encouraging the public to prepare ahead of time by obtaining certified eclipse glasses and understanding how to observe the event safely.
