Built in 1610, there's a mansion in Wales that is reportedly haunted by no less than 15 ghosts, all with their own tragic tale to tell. The Jacobian mansion's rooms, hallways, and ground are the location of several sightings and hair-raising tales of the paranormal.
The impressive Grade I listed building is named Plas Teg and sits in Flintshire, between the towns of Mold and Wrexham. The house has featured on many TV programmes, such as Most Haunted UK, Extreme Ghost Stories and Ghost Hunting with Girls Aloud.
Two of the 15 ghosts are a couple who planned to elope before their untimely deaths. The ghost of Dorothy, daughter of Sir John Trevor I, reportedly haunts the A541 that runs past Plas Teg. Stories say Dorothy fell in love with a local farmer's son, Iorwerth, however, her father did not approve and forbade her from seeing him.

Her love for Iorwerth was her priority however, and Dorothy made her plans to run away to elope with her love. Ahead of her bolt, Dorothy buried her jewels near a well, planning to dig them up when she left.
Tragedy struck on the night of her exit, Dorothy ran out to the well to retrieve her jewellery box, but slipped and fell down the well to her death due to the darkness. Her body wasn't discovered until two months later. Reports on Haunted Rooms say there are years of sightings of a ghost roaming the A541. This is believed to be Dorothy searching for her love.
When Dorothy was found, her jewels were missing. Iorwerth was so distraught at her death and feared being accused of her murder, that he hanged himself. His ghost is also believed to haunt the grounds, looking for his beloved Dorothy. Do you believe in the paranormal? Let us know in the comments.

Additionally, on one occasion during the late 1800’s early 1900s, a gardener is reported to have felt hands grabbing his shoulder trying to pull him down the well. He struggled free and looked down at the dark water beneath but saw nothing.
In 2019, a paranormal investigator claimed to have captured a photograph of the ghost thought to have died nearly 400 years ago at one of Wales' most haunted homes. Paul Rowland was at Plas Teg trying to contact the dead when he caught the ghostly figure of a man on camera.
Records of wailing throughout the mansion have been reported and it's thought this picture proves the petrifying legend. Some believe this could be the ghost of John Trevor V, who died sometime in the mid-18th Century. He discovered his wife’s affair, and her death came shortly after, believed to be at the hands of John.
Drunk and guilt-ridden, he drove his carriage at high speed through the grounds of Plas Teg, hitting a tree and severely injuring himself. Due to his injuries, he died a prolonged and painstaking death.
A teenager named Elizabeth Trevor-Roper also died aged 16 at Plas Teg in 1815. Reportedly, two men had fallen for her, but she only loved one of them. In a fit of jealous rage, the one she refused killed the man she loved, and then chased Elizabeth back to the house.
Terrified he might kill her next, there was a struggle, and Elizabeth either slipped or was pushed down the well and ultimately drowned. It is believed these two match the sightings of two people running through the corridors, a woman in white clutching jewels pursued by a man with a bloody wound to his shoulder.
