Rangers icon Graeme Souness could be handed an Ibrox ambassador role as James Bisgrove moved to clear up the legend's return to Glasgow.
The rumour mill went into overdrive with punters speculating he could earn a key role as part of Michael Beale's revamp with some even forecasting a major role for the club he managed and starred for with distinction. But the club's new chief – speaking to the assembled media – was quick to insist it was merely a catch–up, admitting Souness could return to the fold in an official capacity.
Souness is a free agent at the age of 70 after exiting Sky following 20 years as a leading pundit for Premier League coverage. And the Liverpool legend was quick to point out he is no rush to retire and that only fuelled talk he had been earmarked for an official return. Souness acted as a pundit on the club's TV channel during the Covid season and remains a vocal advocate of the Ibrox side.
