ABC’s first season of The Golden Bachelor wrapped up on Thursday night, and show lead Gerry Turner has officially chosen one of its contestants.
After a long, emotional finale, Turner ended up picking Theresa Nist over Leslie Fhima as his fiancée. Turner proposed to Nist, who accepted his offer as the two are now set to be married.
Longtime reality television guru Reality Steve first reported the news a week ahead of Thursday’s finale, which confirmed his reporting that Turner chose Nist to be his second wife.
Turner told Fhima about his decision to pick Nist ahead of the final rose ceremony, which is not necessarily how finales on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have gone in the past.
We’ll see what’s next for Turner and Nist as they plan their wedding… and if Fhima winds up returning for a possible first season of The Golden Bachelorette.
