The Giants showed their pre-draft tags on all the players in the 2024 NFL Draft

It’s always fascinating to learn what NFL teams thought of prospects ahead of the draft. We very rarely get any insight into that on the record, but the New York Giants opened up at least some of their thoughts for public consumption in the final episode of “Hard Knocks.”

Their basic thoughts on every player who was selected in the 2024 NFL Draft are visible in a screenshot that has circulated online. There are colored tags on several prospects that indicate something about how the Giants felt about them pre-draft.

Many players had no designations, which could be for any number of reasons. A lot of prospects did earn a color tag desingation.

Via some crowdsourced deductions from Doug Analytics on X (formerly Twitter), the color codes appear to be deciphered:

Blue: all-around good leader and teammate
Red: medical concerns
Purple: character/off-field concerns
Pink: undersized/measurement concerns
Grey: considered at multiple positions

It doesn’t list the prospects in the order the Giants ranked them, but seeing the different designations for the prospects offers some great insight into how the Giants evaluation team saw certain players and what their length and size thresholds might be at certain positions.
