Not quite a remake and definitely not a sequel to the 1990s movie, The Ghost in the Shell is actually an adaptation that stays a little truer to the manga, complete with more fleshed-out story arcs and bringing in material left on the cutting room floor elsewhere.

The episode count is currently expected to be 10 episodes. Two episodes have aired to date.
