The furious Kris Boyd Rangers rant in full as he takes dismal Ibrox side apart after Celtic 'annihilation'

Kris Boyd is calling for the return of Allan McGregor between the Rangers sticks.

The Ibrox hero is keen to see the 40-year-old back on the field in place of his counterpart Jon McLaughlin who had a forgettable performance against Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday.

It was the keeper's second Old Firm appearance as a ferocious Celtic side slammed four goals into his net. And McLaughlin certainly had a bad day at the office in Glasgow's east end, with mistakes throughout the clash. The fourth and final goal potentially puts a stop to his spell between the sticks for Gio van Bronckhorst. It came just 12 minutes from the final whistle when he gave the ball away to the fresh legs of David Turnbull who tucked the ball away.

Boyd told Sky Sports : “For me, looking at it now, I think Giovanni has a few decisions to make and one of them is in nets. You need big players. You need players that are going to stand up and be characters at this moment and he might just have to put Allan McGregor back in goals.

“I’m questioning Jon McLaughlin at the second goal. It’s a fantastic finish by Jota and take nothing away from it but Jon McLaughlin makes his mind up."

And on the fourth goal, Boyd added: “If there was ever a team to play over the top of it's Celtic, because they've got so many on you and they're so good at it.

"But Jon McLaughlin has three or four seconds to think about it and still plays that pass. I’d rather Alfredo Morelos lose the ball on the half way line against Carter Vickers than at the edge of my own box. It’s an annihilation – I don’t know why you’re adding to it.”
