The four things the NHS is asking people in England to do under Plan A

England has now moved away from Covid-19 restrictions as Plan B rules expire in England today (Thursday, July 27) and we return to Plan A.

But while omicron continues to spread, the NHS wants people to still be careful when it comes to helping to prevent further spread of the virus.

People who have registered with the NHS Test and Trace app are being urged to 'stay cautious to protect yourself and others'.

And wants people to follow four safety behaviours, which are:

  • Get vaccinated and get your booster done
  • Let fresh air in if you meet indoors, meeting outdoors is safer
  • Get tested and self-isolate if required
  • You are no longer legally required to wear a face covering. However, the guidelines suggest wearing one in crowded and enclosed spaces where you come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

From today it is no longer be mandatory to wear masks in shops and other public places, or on public transport, and you will no longer need to use a Covid passport or prove your vaccination status to access to events and venues in England.

Work from home guidance and masks in schools were already scrapped last week.

Restrictions on visiting care homes have also been eased
