Andy Halliday insists Rangers should be on the phone to James Tavernier tomorrow to try and re-sign him.
Halliday watched on as Rangers crashed out of the Europa League this evening by drawing with Jagiellonia Bialystok following the narrow defeat out in Poland last week.
After a reasonably encouraging display in the first half, the home side faded after a tactical tweak from manager Derek McInnes at half-time and in truth never looked like doing enough to win the tie.

Halliday offered a suggestion of bringing back his former teammate and the ex-club captain, who left earlier this summer.
He said: "I'm going to say something that will be unpopular, but the first thing Rangers should do in terms of recruitment is phone James Tavernier tomorrow.
"Honestly. He's an upgrade straight away and you talk about characters, right, which has been leveled at James Tavernier for years, and we're talking about the ability to play under pressure, to not be afraid to make mistakes, to try and make a creative difference. That's James Tavernier all over. And without doubt, it's an upgrade on what they've got. Without doubt for me."
Asked what the fans would make of a move to bring back their former skipper, he admitted: "They wouldn't be happy. Absolutely not, they wouldn't be happy. But again, everyone's talking about this new leadership group, this new character, but for me, the difference is being able to play under that scrutiny. And I think James Tavernier has never hid from that scrutiny. He will always get on the ball no matter the noise that surrounds him and he will always try and make a difference. And for me, it's an upgrade."
