A “forever home” sounds wonderfully reassuring until the forever part starts costing more than expected. The house may still have the perfect kitchen, the backyard everyone loves, and the bedroom where the family grew up, but a beloved address can quietly turn into a financial heavyweight.
That does not mean homeowners should panic and put up a For Sale sign tomorrow morning. It means the definition of a good home can change as income, family needs, maintenance demands, taxes, insurance costs, and long-term financial goals change. A house should support the life happening inside it, not force everything else to bend around the mortgage.
