Michael Wright, the New York City-born actor whose portrayal of the self-destructive Eddie King Jr. in 'The Five Heartbeats' became one of the most electrifying performances in early 1990s American cinema, died on 21 August 2026. He was 70.
His wife, Susan Wright, confirmed his death in an Instagram post the same day. 'It is with profound sadness and an unimaginable heaviness in my heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Wright,' she wrote.
