The 2023 NFL draft is one day away, and all the experts are finalizing their mock drafts and big boards.
We showed you the surprise pick for No. 2 QB earlier in the week from ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. (Will Levis!), and now we have the final big board from Todd McShay. His top prospect is Alabama QB Bryce Young, which makes sense.
But his No. 2 prospect? That would be … Texas running back Bijan Robinson. So now you get why the buzz is that the RB could end up as a first-rounder and might go earlier than you’d expect. Our Christian D’Andrea had Robinson going No. 18 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles (via trade) in his final mock of the season.
Here’s what McShay had to say about his take on Robinson:
Robinson is a patient and instinctive runner who makes the most of his blocking and has a good feel for cutback lanes. He has the burst to turn the corner on perimeter runs, and he gets good push when he doesn’t get a seam. Robinson has outstanding contact balance, and it almost always takes more than one defender to get him on the ground when he gets into space. He makes defenders miss without losing much momentum, as evidenced by his FBS-leading 91 forced missed tackles last season. Robinson ran for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, both top-six numbers in the nation. He also can help out in the pass game, catching 60 balls over three seasons at Texas.
There you have it. Make sure to check out our final NFL mock draft. We also have our latest “consensus” mock draft to show who the experts are picking, along with the full first-round order up to date after the Aaron Rodgers trade.
