It was all too easy for Tottenham on Monday evening as they sent out a warning to their top-four rivals with a crushing 5-0 win over Everton.
Taking the lead through Michael Keane's own goal after 14 minutes, further strikes from Son Heung-min and Harry Kane gave Spurs a three-goal advantage at the break.
Extending the scoreline seconds after the restart with substitute Sergio Reguilon firing home with his first touch of the ball, Kane completed the scoring nine minutes later with a fine volley into the bottom corner.
The England captain was once again simply unplayable as he made Antonio Conte's side tick, with Matt Doherty, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski also starring in the rout.
Fabio Paratici's decision to sign Kulusevski on transfer deadline day may have raised some eyebrows amongst the Tottenham fanbase, mainly due to the fact some saw it as the managing director of football raiding former club Juventus having failed to bring anyone else in.
However, the Swede has quickly silenced any doubters in his first eight appearances for the club.
The new man has also formed an eye-catching partnership with Kane and Son during that time and the trio really could be something special together once they really get going.
Outstanding away at Manchester City last month as he played a pivotal role in their 3-2 triumph against the reigning champions, the 21-year-old followed it up a week later with another impressive showing in the 4-0 win over Leeds.
Kane may be the player who again gets the vast majority of the credit following his performance against Everton but Kulusevski also deserves plenty of plaudits.
He was that good.
Having an impact early on after teeing Son up for a chance that he squandered, the ex-Parma loanee then got an assist to his name as he linked up with Kane before playing an inch-perfect pass to play in the South Korean.
Mason Holgate maybe made it easy for the Spurs attacker by coming out of the backline but Kulusevski still had to play in Son and he made it look rather easy.
Causing problems for Everton with his movement and trickery, Kulusevski registered his third assist for Spurs seconds after the half-time whistle as his low ball was converted by Reguilon at the back post.
He may not have got the goal his performance deserved but he demonstrated again what a shrewd acquisition he has been and that can be a big player for Spurs for years to come.
The Sweden international has looked right at home in the Premier League in his first month in England and the pace and intensity of the league has not overawed him one bit.
Already showing that he has the strength to cope up against seasoned Premier League pros to go along with his vision, awareness and attacking play, Kulusevski also has quality in abundance and that is only going to benefit Tottenham over the long run.
The best bit about the player is that there is still so much more to come from him as it does usually take foreign players a good 12 to 18 months to really find their stride in England and hit top form.
His start to life at Spurs also shines a light on Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso's struggles even more.
Signed in the summer of 2019 as the Lilywhites looked to build on reaching the Champions League final, the duo just never lived up to the hype and in the end Conte decided to part with them on loan in January after quickly coming to the verdict that they didn't fit into his Spurs plans.
Kulusevski, on the other hand, has wowed in his first eight appearances and at a fraction of the cost of the duo.
Tottenham paid Juventus £8.3m - £2.5m for the remainder of this season and £5.8m for the 2022/23 campaign - to take him on loan and there is an obligation to buy for £29.2m if sporting criteria are met.
Even if those objectives are not achieved, Spurs can sign him for the aforementioned amount.
Speaking to football.london after the game in his post-match press conference, Conte hailed his two January arrivals for their impact in N17.
"In January two players made us more complete. I think that we can fight. We can fight for this target. It's important to have this ambition and it's not right to hide our ambition and ok we'll see what happens," he said on Kulusevski and Bentancur as well as the top-four battle.
"We'll try to do everything and at the end we'll see what happens. Now we have only 12 games to play, not a trophy to play for. For this reason it's right to take the responsibility, me, myself, I have to be the first.
"You know I don't like to speak about ambition and reaching a place in the Champions League because I like to play to win the league and win trophies, but in this situation this could be our Champions League, our Premier League title if we are able to reach fourth place."
Struggling in the past to supply the attackers with the required ammunition after Christian Eriksen's exit and Dele Alli's drop in form, Tottenham finally look like they have found the perfect answer to their problem in Kulusevski.
Linking up so well for the second goal of the night as the new signing and Kane had a part to play in Son's strike, not many teams will be looking forward to facing the trio over the coming months.
