The excellent Swansea City player ratings as defenders rock-solid in Huddersfield Town win

ANDY FISHER 8

Had nothing to do in the first-half as Swansea bossed possession. Contributed well when the hosts played out from the back and was assured when the visitors bombarded the Swansea box with long balls late on. Another clean sheet.

JOEL LATIBEAUDIERE 7

Solid defensively, with most of his work coming higher up the pitch. Decent delivery towards Matt Grimes and Liam Cullen early on but was always tidy in possession, a couple of moments in the second-half aside.

BEN CABANGO 8

Received an early yellow card but was more than comfortable on the ball. Headed against the post in the first-half with what was his side's clearest opening. Chipped in with a few timely clearances and was good in the air.

NATHAN WOOD 8

Carried the ball upfield well time and time again and won a couple of free-kicks as a result. Solid at the back too, making stacks of clearances to ease the load on Fisher.

RYAN MANNING - Star Man 8

Comfortable defensively but didn't have a lot to shout about in attack in the opening half aside from a fine cross that led to Cabango's chance. Brilliant in the second-half though. So good from set-pieces and struck the only goal of the game to win it for the hosts.

MATT GRIMES 7

Chipped in with a few tackles to ensure Andy Fisher was untested but couldn't find that killer pass in the Huddersfield half. Grew in the second-half though and helped to pull the strings from the middle.

OLIVIER NTCHAM 6

A couple of decent flashes and drilled over at the end of the opening half having picked up a knock. Replaced by Ollie Cooper at the break.

JAY FULTON 6

Booked early on but was decent enough on the ball and put in a few crosses. Solid. Subbed.

JAMIE PATERSON 6

A quiet first-half from Paterson following his impressive showing at Wigan Athletic. Made a few useful tackles and was more lively in the early stages of the second-half as Swansea pushed. Withdrawn.

LIAM CULLEN 6

Had no time to react to Cabango's header which the post, with Cullen heading the rebound over from close range. Quiet other than that in truth. Withdrawn.

JOEL PIROE 7

Didn't get a sniff in front of goal in the first-half and regularly dropped deep to have an influence on proceedings. Link-up play was good in the second-half though, as evidenced with the chance he created for Morgan Whittaker. Subbed late on.

Subs

Ollie Cooper (for Ntcham) - Brought a directness to Swansea's play that had been sorely lacking in the first-half. Top impact. 7

Morgan Whittaker (for Fulton) - As with Cooper, he gave Huddersfield more to think about. Denied by a fine tackle after having a shot from the edge of the box. 6

Luke Cundle (for Paterson) - Gave his side more of a threat high up the pitch and got an assist for Manning's goal. 7

Harry Darling (for Cullen) - Helped the Swans see out the game and keep a clean sheet. N/A

Joe Allen (for Piroe) - As above. N/A
