An overseas property company has revealed the cheapest European country for people in Britain to move to as the cold weather and long, dark nights continue. Experts at YourOverseasHome analysed the cost of living in six different European countries before comparing them to the UK.
Having looked at destinations including Greece, Portugal, Spain, France and Germany, the company eventually named Italy as the cheapest place for Brits to move to. Although energy is more expensive there, food shopping costs significantly less when compared to the UK.
Items ranging from fish to gin in the UK are more than double the price of the same items in Italy. In terms of moving house, decorating supplies and domestic cleaners were also found to be cheaper in Italy, the Daily Record reports.
