The Electric Lexus LFA Could Get A Fake Sequential Gearbox

Toyota has filed a patent application describing a way to fake a manual transmission in an electric car. The timing lines up with the all-electric Lexus LFA, which is expected to arrive in 2027.

The system uses torque control instead of a clutch. It could end up connected the LFA Concept's steering wheel paddles.
