As much as the focus will be on incomings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January, the club also have plenty to do regarding outgoings. A handful of Antonio Conte's Tottenham players have played limited minutes throughout the 2022/23 campaign and that could result in possible exits as Fabio Paratici reshapes the squad.
Bryan Gil could be one of the first-team squad to head out on loan after failing to move in August, with Japhet Tanganga another in need of a temporary exit after only playing 17 minutes since the season started. But who else could depart over the course of January? football.london takes a look.
Davinson Sanchez
Sanchez's name will no doubt crop up in the headlines in January due to his lack of regular first-team football in north London. Opportunities have been there for him in Cristian Romero's absence but a player of his standing really needs to be playing week in, week out.

Paratici does need to take a look at Tottenham's backline in the next couple of transfer windows, though, as it's clear to see that they could do with some improvements there to help them hit the next level. Players could move on as a result, with Sanchez a player who would bring in a decent fee due to his experience for club and country.
Bryan Gil
Gil's game time did improve just before the Premier League went on pause but it's still not enough for him at this stage in his career. His development will only go up a level or two with a good amount of minutes each week, which was the case for him on loan at Valencia last campaign.
Another loan move could be in the offing but it will all depend on Spurs bringing in a replacement for him. Failure to do that and he will continue to play a bit-part role for the remainder of the season.
Emerson Royal or Djed Spence
Tottenham fans will be hoping that there is a bit of movement in the right wing-back position due to the struggles there since August. Emerson Royal has been Conte's main man in the position as Matt Doherty has struggled to recapture his form after his injury and Djed Spence is trying to make the step up from the Championship.
Although he only signed from Barcelona in August 2021, an early exit for Emerson would see Tottenham bring in a decent amount of money in the transfer market as he is the most valuable right wing-back at the club. Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan have been linked with him.
Or could Spence be the right wing-back to depart in January? One thing for sure is that the summer signing needs an increase of minutes in the second part of the campaign after only managing 26 minutes so far.
A loan move would be beneficial for all parties concerned if he is going to continue to watch on from the sidelines between January and May. A strong mid-season break could have changed Conte's thinking, though.
Japhet Tanganga
Linked with a move to Italy once again last summer and a move to AC Milan looking set to come to fruition, Tanganga instead remained in N17 with a switch to the San Siro falling through. Way down the pecking order at present and having to settle for 17 minutes this campaign, the ex-England Under-21 international will have his fingers crossed that an exit comes his way.
The academy graduate needs to get his career back on track after not playing a lot of football over the past couple of seasons because of injury.
Pape Matar Sarr
Sarr will have benefitted from his time working under Conte over the past few months but it's the regular football he really needs right now. That just unfortunately isn't going to come his way, as Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma can both point out for themselves as the highly-rated duo have also had to watch on from the bench more often than not.
Clearly a talented player who has a big future in the game if he continues to progress, a loan exit would really help Sarr out right now.
Harvey White
White also finds himself in the same boat as Sarr right now. Impressing in his time on loan at Portsmouth two years ago, the 21-year-old has remained at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ever since and is crying out for a loan deal due to his lack of minutes.
A loan move really would be beneficial but it may only be one of Sarr or White who departs unless another midfielder comes in through the door.
Alfie Whiteman or Brandon Austin
Whiteman's return from his loan spell with Swedish side Degerfors IF means Tottenham now have four goalkeepers at the club. Spurs need to decide whether Whiteman departs again or he is promoted to third-choice goalkeeper to allow Austin to get some playing time elsewhere.
