The latest job report showed a decline in hirings in June, leading some investors to believe there is a lower chance the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates.

However, stocks were mixed after the report. The S&P 500 edged lower after climbing more than 0.73%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite also declined as chipmakers struggle. The Dow Jones Industrial average, in contrast, kept climbing and reached a new record.
