The distillers library

Thailand is now home to the fourth Distillers Library in the world, after China, Vietnam and Singapore, where it was first launched in April 2021. The Distillers Library Bangkok brings flagship expressions and unseen wonders from the William Grant & Sons' archive to Thai consumers, connoisseurs and collectors.

The Distillers Library Bangkok, on Pimarn 49, Sukhumvit 49, is an invite-only space, where the distiller's brand ambassadors and invited guests will discover a repository of wisdom through intimate encounters with the rarest and most precious liquids in the whisky world from private archives. "We want to provide the increasingly discerning Thai audience a conducive lounge for them to indulge in luxury whiskies," says Chakrit "Max" Benedetti, managing director of Italasia Trading (Thailand) Co. Ltd.

To celebrate the opening, William Grant & Sons will bring the first of a series of strictly private releases from the ghost Ladyburn distillery, operational from 1966-1975. It will also introduce some extremely rare whiskies for the first time in Thailand, including one of 148 globally-available bottles of The Balvenie 50YO. Connoisseurs and collectors can also expect other limited-edition collections and exceptional single cask bottlings at The Distillers Library such as the Glenfiddich 1973 Armagnac, 1978 Hogshead and 1978 Oloroso casks. Guests of The Distillers Library will also experience limited bottlings of The Balvenie.

The Grant family's history began in 1887 when William Grant built his first distillery with the help of his nine children and a single stonemason, in the northeast of Scotland. He had a single-minded ambition to create the "best dram in the valley". Six generations later, William Grant & Sons, pioneer of the single malt category, remains family-owned and upholds the spirit of independence, determination and innovation held by its founder.
