Meryl Streep will never lift the lid on her life in a memoir because it would be "too boring".
The Devil Wears Prada 2 star has been working in Hollywood since the 1970s and her glittering career has included three Academy Award wins and 21 nominations - making her the actor with the most Oscar nods in history - but Meryl has insisted she has no plans to tell-all about her life in the spotlight because an autobiography wouldn't be interesting enough.
During an appearance on SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, she said: "Nope. Too boring," before adding: "Well seriously, kind of, yeah."
However, Meryl did admit she does like the idea of returning to the stage and she's been talking about a potential Broadway comeback with her longtime friend Martin Short.
She said: "Oh, I would love to do so. I was talking with Marty Short about that and we were thinking that would be fun to do [something together] ... "
Meryl - who last appeared onstage in New York in 2006 - has been friends with Martin for many years with the pair working together on his TV show Only Murders In The Building. They were even rumoured to be dating, but Martin dismissed the suggestion and declared they are just very good friends.
Martin told PEOPLE last year: "We're not a couple. We are just very close friends."
He also insisted casting Meryl - who was married to married to sculptor Don Gummer from 1978 to 2017 - as his character's love interest in Only Murders In the Building was just a coincidence, adding: "They already planned that I would have a theatrical experience and there would be a love interest.'
"So that was coincidental, but she just wanted to be on the show. She didn't know about [the love story]."
In another interview, Martin lavished praise on Meryl and insisted she doesn't behave like a diva even though she's earned the right to.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "I think just how easy it is, how loose she is. She doesn't carry any of her 21 Oscar nominations to the set. She has a right to be a diva, and she's just so polite and fun and generous."
