Death Notices
Her Majesty QUEEN ELIZABETH II
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died peacefully at Balmoral on 08/09/2022, aged 96 years.
Born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21,1926 in London, Her Majesty was the oldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
The young Princess' destiny was forever changed in December 1936 when her uncle, King Edward VIII abdicated the throne making his brother, and Princess Elizabeth's father, Prince Albert Duke of York, King George VI. Princess Elizabeth then became Heir Presumptive to the throne.
Princess Elizabeth married Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten of the Royal Navy, formerly Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark on 20 November 1947. Prince Phillip was given the title Duke of Edinburgh and served loyally by the side of Her Majesty The Queen until his death on 9th April 2021.
The couple had two children Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Anne, Princess Royal. On February 6th 1952 King George VI passed away making Princess Elizabeth, Queen Elizabeth II. A period of official mourning followed with the Queen's coronation being held some time later at Westminster Abbey on June 2nd 1953.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh had two further children: Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
On 2nd June 2022 Her Majesty celebrated 70 years on the throne making her the longest serving monarch in UK history. Her death will be felt around the world and a period of mourning is expected to last at least ten days. Details of her funeral will be announced in due course.

On 22nd August 2022 aged 53 years. Much loved Mum of Nicole and cherished Nana of Lexa. Service and Cremation to take place on Wednesday 14th September at Rochdale Crematorium at 2.20pm.

1959-2022 Florida USA & Altrincham UK Survived by his loving Wife, Son & Brother James passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. He was the quintessential British gentleman.
Always opened the door and stood back for you to walk through first. An avid rugby player in the early days, he ended up refereeing. He was a chartered mechanical engineer and worked at Procter & Gamble for over 35 years.
The most important thing to James was his family and was so proud of his son Rory. Sleep well James. You were taken too soon. You will forever remain in our hearts. God Bless until we meet again.
Peacefully on the 21st August 2022, aged 93 years. Muriel will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Requiem Mass at St Ann's Church, Cheadle Hulme on Tuesday 6th September at 10.00 am prior to committal at Manchester Crematorium in the Old Chapel. On August 29th, 2022 whilst surrounded by her daughters Kathleen passed away peacefully at home aged 83 years.
The much loved and loving mum of Karen, Lorraine and the late Janet, devoted Grandma to Shaun and Jack, a treasured great grandma to Freya also a cherished sister of Peter and the late Doreen, Alf, Betty and Jean.

It is with regret that Harry's family announce his passing in Toronto, Canada on the 6th August 2022. Harry aged 76 years was born in Manchester in February 1946. Loving husband to Judy for 49 years, son of the late Mary and Harry Turner.

Lost her brave fight against illness on August 14th 2022. Margaret lived on Lyndhurst Avenue, Bredbury as a girl, went to Highfield School for Girls and played in the netball team. The majority of her working life was spent at Mirrlees Blackstone.
She lived for over 30 years on Patterdale Road before moving to Trinity Gardens, Davenport. Margaret had a keen interest in sport supporting Stockport County and being a keen supporter of Manchester City.
In later years she was at her most content singing in the choir at St Saviours. She leaves behind her son Anthony, daughter-in-law Claire, sister Beryl and various nieces and nephews who will miss the sound of her laughter and will remember her fighting spirit.
