The date made me nervous, but I achieved my goal: Wrestler Deepak Punia on winning gold at CWG 2022

BIRMINGHAM: After claiming gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022, Indian wrestler Deepak Punia said that he was focused on his game and added that he was nervous because on August 5, 2021, he lost the bronze-medal match at the Olympics and today (on Friday) was the same date.

Deepak topped the podium in men's freestyle 86kg category by defeating the 2010 and 2018 CWG gold medallist from Pakistan, Muhammad Inam Butt, in the final at the Coventry Arena.
