The Crown season 6 timeline and what events it will cover
The next season will pick up where season five has left off with the death of Princess Diana set to be one of the major events to be shown.
Footage online has shown them filming the car crash scene although it's not understood how they will handle this scene. Regardless of whether they show her death or if they decide to show the aftermath of her death, it's set to be a large part of the new season as the death of the 'People's Princess' resulted in worldwide mourning.
When it happened, around two thousand people attended the ceremony in Westminster Abbey while the British television audience was 32.10 million on average, one of the United Kingdom's highest viewing figures ever. In addition, an estimated 2.5 billion people watched the event worldwide, making it one of the biggest televised events in history.
The season is also set to cover the deaths of the year 2002 which means we will likely see the deaths of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret. It was also the year of the Queen's Golden Jubilee - another historical event which could very well be shown.
With a Kate Middleton now cast, we could see Prince William and the future Princess meet at St Andrews University however since this is their last season, it's unclear whether there will be a time jump where the audience will be introduced to their children or Harry marrying Meghan Markle and also having children.
If not, it could also be unlikely that they will not cover the death of Prince Philip or the Queen as well as Harry and Meghan leaving for America.
