With ‘pastries to die for’ and famous clientele, Kiosk Coffee has been drawing in customers to their station-side location from all around.
Former Liverpool captain and Formby resident Steven Gerrard is a regular visitor at the cafe alongside a number of other Premier League Footballers, LancsLive reports. A source revealed the midfield legend-turned-manager, who was sacked as Aston Villa boss earlier this season, turned up at the Kiosk during his latest visit.
"I was there yesterday and Steven Gerrard just happened to stop there as we were eating," he added.
This coffee shop, which serves customers through a little window in the wall, is famed for its fresh pastries and sandwiches. There's almost always a little queue but there's a heated and covered seating area for you to rest and enjoy your brew.
"It's just over the border in Formby, but this place has a strong Lancashire identity," one customer who is a keen cyclist told a LancsLive reporter. "The pastries are absolutely to die for. We ride there just to have some," he continued before sending the picture of his pastry and coffee below, which he had purchased from Kiosk Coffee next to Freshfield Station.
It is on a popular cycling route, on the edge of Formby Golf Club and on a key route to the beach, which is a short distance away. The area is well-known as being a beacon for top tier footballers, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also residing in the upmarket seaside town.
Other Kiosk Coffee customers have also been left impressed by the cafe, taking to review sites to rate their experience. Rated 4.5/5 on Google, one reviewer, giving it top marks, wrote: "Lovely coffee spot. The staff is always welcoming, the pastries are so good!!"
While another echoed that sentiment, also giving it a five-star rating, and said: "Lovely coffee and cakes. Very pleasant staff. Outdoor seating but cover and heating provided, quite a sun trap."
