When the news broke that Mars was removing the Bounty bars from selected tubs of Celebrations, some people were upset, while others were more than happy.
However, there have been some big losses from our favourite festive tubs of chocolates over the years, many of which we still hope will make a comeback.
So, if you were fans of the wonderful Galaxy Truffle, Time Out, Fuse, or even the Topic, then get ready to reminisce about when festive chocolate tubs were a bit different (and some would say better) than they are today as we look at the chocolates that have gone AWOL in them over the years.

Seeing as everyone is talking about the upcoming missing Bounty, we will start with Mars' Celebrations tub and their missing chocs ...
Celebrations
When Mars introduced the Celebrations tub in 1997, we all went choco crazy for their miniature versions of Snickers, Galaxy, and Malteasers. Despite having been around for a quarter of a century, surprisingly few have been discontinued from the selection - perhaps a testament to their quality.
The only ones to have been dropped are Galaxy Truffle, the Topic bars, and, now for a trial period in some tubs, the Bounty.
Heroes
Hot on the heels of their competitors at Mars, Cadbury's Heroes were unleashed on the world in 1999.
Since launching, Heroes has seen a number of its miniature bars fall by the wayside such as Bournville, Dream, Fuse, Picnic, Time Out, Toblerone, and Diary Milk Whole Nut and Nuts About Caramel.
Roses
Cadbury's Roses was launched in 1938 to compete with Mackintosh's Quality Street and both have been fierce rivals ever since.
Over the years, the number of varieties that have gone are numerous and include the following:- Nutty Truffle Log, Orange Crisp, Chocolate Bite, Noisette Whirl, Lime Barrel, Black Cherry Cream, Caramel Velvet, Almond Caramel Bite, Brazilian Darkness, Praline Moment, Chunky Truffle, Bournville, Almond Charm, Coffee Creme, Montelimar, Marzipan, and Turkish Delight.
Quality Street
One of the most historic chocolate tubs is Quality Street, which has been around since 1936. As you can imagine, has seen many flavours dropped in favour of new and exciting ones.
The extensive list of discontinued flavours include:- Hazelnut Cracknell, Hazelnut Eclair, Honeycomb crunch, Chocolate Nut Toffee Cream, Malt Toffee, Peanut Cracknell, Almond Octagon, Gooseberry Cream, Fig Fancy, ,Apricot Delight, Toffee Square, Chocolate Truffle, Montelimar Nougat, Harrogate Toffee, Fruits of the Forest Creme, Smarties, Coffee Cream, Mint Fondant, Toffee Deluxe, and the Crispy Truffle Bite.
