Scots drivers could finally see a reduction in the amount it costs to fill up their car, as fuel prices are set to drop for the first time after months of soaring costs.
According to the AA Group, the prices at petrol pumps have begun to fall from the start of the month which were 191.53p for petrol and 199.07p for diesel. Now the average prices for drivers are down to 188.76p per litre for petrol and 196.96p per litre for diesel. The drop in fuel prices means that drivers could save themselves around £10 when filling up the tank over the next two weeks.
It will come as welcome news to drivers who have been hit with soaring petrol prices at forecourts across the country amidst the ongoing cost of living crisis.
Fuel prices initially started earlier in the year, due to Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The ongoing conflict had a knock-on effect on the prices at the pumps, which was further escalated after the UK's decision to move away from Russian imported oil.
As prices are set to fall for the first time in months, The Daily Record has compiled a comprehensive list of the petrol stations offering the cheapest prices in each major city. We have compiled the list with five of the cheapest prices for both unleaded and diesel based on the current prices as of writing them (Wednesday, July 20) from PetrolPrices.com, though they may vary from time to time.
