The Chase viewers were unhappy they were shown an old episode with a 'new chaser.'
Bradley Walsh was back today with another set of hopefuls ready to take The Chaser. Today's quizmaster was none other than fan favourite Darragh "The Menace" Ennis who left the players with little room to breathe.
First up to take him on with Steve who admitted he would've preferred Anne Hegerty, stating they would've got on like a house on fire. Sadly, Bradley welcomed Darragh to the hot seat under the guise of "the new Chaser."

At the top of the show, ITV told viewers they were being treated to a new episode which rallied excitement online. Bradley's claim that Darragh was "new" quickly turned the conversation to how recent the episode truly is.
Darragh made his debut as a Chaser back in November 2020, meaning the episode could be at least two years old if Bradley's statement was true at the time of filming. One viewer said: "If this is a new episode of the chase why is there a lot of emphases today on Darragh being the 'new' chaser?!"
Another added: "How is he the new Chaser? Is this a repeat?" A third viewer said: "He’s not that new now is he?"
After some sleuthing by fans, they discovered this specific episode never aired from series 13 and is, therefore, technically new despite being filmed years ago. This also means that Darragh would've been new if it aired when originally planned.
