The Chase's Mark 'The Beast' Labbett has shared a new picture showing his incredible weight loss. Mark is currently starring in a Jack and the Beanstalk panto production.
In a tweet on Christmas Eve, where he was pictured holding a 'Pointless' board game, Mark wrote: "This was my secret Santa at the Northwich Panto. I suspect @richardosman"
Fans were quick to praise his weight loss efforts, with some saying they didn't recognise him and others saying he was "looking great".
Mark is currently starring in Northwich Memorial Court theatre's version of Jack and the Beanstalk and the picture was taken behind the scenes. He has lost an impressive 10 stone and says before his weight loss he was in danger of high blood pressure. Earlier this year he appeared on Loose Women to share details about his journey.
Quiz boffin Mark said: “I am gradually dropping Xs off my size. I’ve gone from 5XL to 4XL and it looks like the next time I go shopping I’ll be able to squeeze into XL underpants. I’ve lost 10 stone, I was 29 stone when I was a full-time teacher in 2003 and I was in danger of high blood pressure. I’ve been around 26 stone up until lockdown, and then a few things happened quite nicely and came together and I started losing weight.”
Mark was heaviest in 2003, weighing around 29st. He was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2016. The diagnosis was the reason for his lifestyle change. An eagle-eyed nurse was the one who first spotted that the star had diabetes.
