The Chase's Bradley Walsh in stitches as ITV contestant gives 'best answer ever'

ITV's The Chase was back on our screens on Wednesday, February 22, and as usual Bradley Walsh was at the helm of the popular quiz show. While the programme has been entertaining fans for years - 14 years in fact - viewers claimed one contestant's answer to a question on Wednesday's show was the 'best ever'.

As the programme took its usual format, Bradley Walsh brought his typical humour and laid back style to the show and welcomed contestant Davinder. The quizzer faced an array of questions in the cash builder round but it was his final question that saw him blurting out a hilarious answer.

The Chase presenter had asked the player a question about the cereal Sugar Puffs, but, according to the Express, his answer caused the 62-year-old to throw his head back and laugh out loud. Fans branded the response "the best answer ever". ITV viewers soon reacted to the incorrect response on social media.

Bradley posed the question: "What did Sugar Puffs change their name to in 2014?" Davinder's answer had Bradley 'cracking up' and Twitter users in a frenzy to share their thoughts.

"The Sugarbabes," a flustered Davinder replied, referencing the popular girl band. As the audience laughed, Bradley cackled as he repeated: "The Sugarbabes..." For a few moments, Bradley stood laughing on the spot as he lifted his head up, unable to speak. "Close, Honey Monster Puffs," he eventually remarked after composing himself.

"Okay," Davinder commented, also laughing at the incorrect answer. "Hey, Davinder, that's not bad mate," Bradley assured the contestant. "How many do you reckon?" "Four, five," Davinder shrugged as Bradley confirmed: "Five, it's a good start, mate."

Thankfully, the contestant had already won a respectable £5,000. The episode saw players Davinder, Katie, Sinead, and Sam taking on chaser Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha.

The final round saw just three players facing Paul one last time because Katie was unfortunately caught during her round. Despite a strong attempt, Paul managed to catch up with the contestants during the final chase.

"We needed Katie," Bradley remarked as the game came to an end. Adding: "And that's the way it is". The players lost their chance to split £13,000 between them.

Viewers shared their reaction to the show on social media. One person wrote: "Sugar babes though! No this was NOT the name change Sugar Puffs went for... #TheChase," adding laughing emojis. Another said: " Best answer ever on #TheChase What did Sugar Puffs changes its name to? Answer Sugar Babes... apparently it was Honey Monsters." A third added: "Fella on #TheChase thought that Sugar Puffs changed their name to Sugababes."

Another declared: "'What did Sugar Puffs change their name to in 2014?' 'Sugababes.' Should have let him have the extra grand. #TheChase."

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV
