The Chase's Bradley Walsh in hysterics as contestant makes huge gaffe on ITV show

Bradley Walsh was left in hysterics as a contestant made a huge gaffe on The Chase today.

The presenter couldn't stop laughing as 37-year-old Emma from London took on the cash builder round in a bid to bag a space in the final chase and have the chance of winning a big amount of money.

He admitted he struggled to hold in his laughs as he powered through with the other questions.

However, her performance in the question round left Bradley in hysterics and he couldn't contain his laughter after Emma made a huge mistake in answering one of the questions.

One of the questions was: "What animal is the University of Florida's mascot, Alberta Gator." Emma answered quickly, saying it was a crocodile before realising her error, but it was too late and Bradley had to take her first answer.

Following the quickfire round, Emma managed to secure £5,000 to take on the Chaser - but her earlier answer had Bradley in hysterics. Laughing, he said: "The first question I had to hang on, what animal is the University of Florida's mascot, Alberta Gator - crocodile."

"I was thinking about the teeth," Emma said as Bradley couldn't stop laughing and leaned his head on his hands as he leant on the podium. He then added: "I was trying to hold on," before telling Emma: "You made me laugh there. Brilliant."

Fans of the ITV quiz show took to Twitter to quip about Emma's gaffe.

"Imagine not knowing the difference between an alligator and a crocodile #thechase," one person wrote on Twitter, whilst another added: "Gator.... says crocodile lol bless her! #Thechase."

A third shared: "Alberta gator - crocodile #thechase," with a fourth penning: "Gator - GATOR! The clue was in the question! The Chase: Gives obvious question where answer is alligator Contestant: Crocodile #thechase."

Emma, 37, managed £5,000 in the cash builder round (ITV)

A few weeks ago, one contestant broke a record on the ITV show in a stunning cash builder round.

John managed to secure a "full house" in his quickfire question round, answering 11 questions correctly.

Surprised, Bradley insisted it was a show first as he shouted: "The show's over. I can't remember the last time that has happened."

"What's that?" John asked, questioning what had happened, as Bradley replied: "Full house, £11,000, that is spectacular."
