The Chase's Bradley Walsh calls out Anne Hegerty's 'unnecessary' comment

The Chase's Bradley Walsh was unimpressed to hear a joke made at his expense.

Bradley welcomed another four hopefuls to the show ready to take on The Chaser. Their opponent today was Anne "The Governess" Hegerty who was met with a frosty reception after her usual banter with Bradley fell short of insulting.

First up to the mark was 55-year-old cafe owner Zoe. Anne delivered her usual welcoming puns as she said: "Hello, Zoe. This is going to be one time you don't make money out of a hot crumpet."

Zoe made the decision to stick with £5,000 for the head-to-head which prompted Anne to deliver another punchline, this time aimed at Bradley.

She said: "This will be a familiar situation for you - standing next to a doughnut." After a brief pause, Bradley looked at Zoe and said: "Unnecessary, isn't it?"

Zoe tried to lighten the mood by declaring she doesn't sell doughnuts before Bradley added: "Well you should because they're lovely." The 55-year-old moved on with the show but she was knocked out of the game before making it back to her team.

Anne dominated the final round with ease due to only one member of the team remaining. Final contestant Ibrahim's trivia knowledge was no match for The Chaser and he too went home with nothing.
