The Chase's Anne Hegerty aims cheeky jibe as player shares weight loss transformation

The Chase's Anne Hegerty aimed a cheeky jibe at a player on today's programme.

The Governess was taking on four new quizzers on Monday's edition of the popular ITV gameshow. Host Bradley Walsh welcomed John, Seok, Dave and Laura, who were aiming to defeat The Chaser and win a cash prize.

Dave was up in seat three and the 51-year-old banker revealed he was hoping to use any potential winnings on a "tummy tuck" operation as he had lost 11 stone over the past seven years. Bradley praised the contestant after he shared his weight loss journey and he said he would feel "even more confident" after the procedure.

Dave proceeded to put in an impressive cash-builder and accumulated £6,000. Anne left Bradley and Dave in hysterics when she referenced the banker's weight loss transformation before their head-to-head. She joked: "You lost 11 stone? Normally when a banker loses a lot pounds, they're someone else's."

Dave opted to go for the higher amount as he aimed to book his place in the Final Chase with £36,000. However, Anne was in imperious form and caught the quizzer so he had to exit the show.

The Governess put in a strong showing throughout today's programme as only John progressed to the Final Chase. The 33-year-old history student impressively built up 15 steps in the Final Chase and was aiming to take home £6,000.

However, the Chaser caught him with 14 seconds remaining - meaning he left empty-handed.

The Chase airs each weekday at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
