The Chase makes history with first ever all women panel for International Women's Day

The Chase made history with its first ever all women panel today to mark International Women's Day.

The ITV quiz show returned to screens on Tuesday evening with an all female panel - the show's first ever - as they marked the annual holiday, where women are celebrated across the globe.

Bradley Walsh was back to host whilst Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan took on the four hopefuls as they gave it their best shot in the cash builders and individual rounds in a bid to make it back for the final chase.

Fans of the ITV show were thrilled to see four women on the panel for the first time ever.

However, other viewers of the ITV quiz show were unsure why it hadn't been done sooner.

"Can’t believe they've never had an all women episode on a normal day! It is 2022 right? Shouldn’t have to wait for international women’s day #TheChase," one social media user shared online.

Leanne, Donna, Payal and Abigail were the four hopefuls keen to win the show and take home a big cash prize.

Referencing the female line up, host Bradley said: "This is great, this is really good. Something's going on here though, isn't it?" as one of the contestants replied: "Yeah, we're taking over the world Brad. Mind out."

Fans had hoped the four women would win big in the final chase - but only two of them made it through, and ended up getting caught by Jenny, who managed to do it with 30 seconds left to spare.

Despite her win, Jenny praised the contestants and thanked ITV for letting her be a part of the special episode to mark International Women's Day. Praising the contestants, she thanked them for taking part in the special show.
