A lot can happen in the space of the week. This time last week, I was harping on about how I still don’t feel festive and now it feels that Christmas is everywhere I look.
It’s almost as if as soon as December 1st hit, all the tinsel and Christmas trees in existence have awoken from their hibernation. You can’t even buy a pint of milk without contemplating whether now is the right time to stock up on the brandy sauce or not.
And, just like clockwork, the Christmas build-up is already causing ‘chaotic scenes’ throughout town. People have reported having to wait for up to four hours to get out of the city centre’s car parks after a day of shopping, with warnings that it will only continue as we get closer to the big day.
