The Centre Livingston announce their charity partner for December

West Lothian Diabetes Scotland group has been announced as The Centre, Livingston’s charity partner for December.

The link-up, which is part of The Centre’s ‘Support in the Community Initiative’ is aimed at helping a different organisation each month to raise funds and awareness by providing a pop-up space in the mall and a £250 gift card donation.

The charity, which provides support and information to people living with diabetes, as well as their family and friends, will be in the shopping centre on December 3 and 4 to highlight some of the services they offer.

Along with a wide range of practical up-to-date information about diabetes, they also run monthly meetings with expert guest speakers.

They also offer a range of classes and activities to help people manage their diabetes, including gym classes, seated exercise session, a walking group and a Nutrition Club.

May Millward, Chair of West Lothian Diabetes Scotland Group, said: “At West Lothian Diabetes Scotland Group our key focus is about raising awareness of diabetes , supporting those living with diabetes and raising funds through donations, events and sponsorship.

“All of the funds raised help to maintain and develop local activities, including the ‘Lifestyle Project’ which helps people to self-manage the condition through healthy eating and regular exercise, as well as supporting Diabetes Scotland in the great work that they do on a national level.

“To be awarded The Centre’s December charity partner is such a fantastic opportunity for us to raise even more awareness of all the great services and support we offer for anyone with the condition or for others who just want to learn a bit more about it.”

Patrick Robbertze, Centre Director at The Centre, Livingston, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new monthly charity partner, West Lothian Diabetes Scotland Group, into the mall on the 3rd and 4th of December to highlight the great services and support they offer to people with diabetes in the local area.”
