Martin O'Neill has admitted he would love to sign Chelsea's young left-back Landon Emenalo.
The Parkhead club are working on a loan deal for the 18-year-old as they look to bring in the cover for Kieran Tierney that was provided by Marcelo Saracchi last season.
Originally viewed as a midfielder or central defender, the Stamford Bridge academy prospect has represented both England and the United States and stood out at left-back in three of Chelsea’s pre-season games under Xabi Alonso.

O'Neill was asked directly about the target in today's press conference ahead of the cup clash with Dundee United.
He admits he would love to have the player as part of his squad.
The Celtic boss said: "What can I tell you? I think he's a really fine young player. I think that obviously we need that position covered. Because of Kieran. Kieran did exceptionally well last season. Having been plagued with injuries at Arsenal, he came roaring back, which was great.
"And this young man has definitely got talent. He's got a bit of an injury at the moment. We're hoping that that will clear up shortly. And if it does, and I think it will, I'd love to have him. If that's the case."
