A nursery is offering free childcare to the families of refugees and asylum seekers. Misty Ardouin is the managing director of Nestlings Nursery, based in Cardiff, and said she wanted to do something to help after seeing coverage of refugees.
"We wanted [the nursery] to be as community-friendly and eco-friendly as possible. I think just watching the refugees and the state of the world, it was just wanting to do something to help," she said. Misty worked out that, for every 30 places, the nursery could afford to offer a space for one child from the family of refugees or asylum seekers per day.
"It's working really well and really nicely," Misty said of the scheme. In order to link up with families in need of the free childcare space, she reached out to refugee charities in the area, including Oasis Cardiff, a centre for asylum seekers and refugees in the city.
